Dr Sanjukta Ghosh is Artistic Director of SOAS South Asia Institute (SSAI) University of London and Convenor of SSAI Sanglaap Art and Culture Series. She has produced several public events (>40 programs archived) related to languages, cultural representations, literature, and media.
She is a multi-award-winning researcher with a Commonwealth Scholarship-funded (ACU) doctorate in modern history from the SOAS Department of History, Religion and Philosophy where she has been a Senior Teaching Fellow. As the Language Lead of SOAS decolonisation group, she recently produced the diaspora community arts on Mushaira, and Multi-Lingual Culture at SOAS Festival of Ideas; digital creatives (>30 recorded lockdown digital sessions) connecting diaspora to the South Asian context of emergency fundraising.
She served as the coordinator of 14 South Asian and European INGO’s interventions against caste-based discrimination. In the course of her work, she received a citizen’s award from Jharkhand for social and educational work among Dalits.
She is a consultant to several high profile educational projects: the AHRC funded project on Indian Diaspora, member of the International Students Mental Health project at SOAS; UKRI-GCRF Collective Programme, historical FILM 4 Production on Azaar (Grammy-nominated) by Back That Limited, London, Strategic Advisor OCHD, consultant to local government and faith forums. She is a research network member of ESSHC; Fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society (UK&Ireland), SADF (Brussels), London/UK Coordinator for SPICMACAY, General Secretary of Srajan the Spark UK. She has several printed/web-based peer-reviewed publications and curated works that have received national and international media coverage.
