Born on 27 March 1960 in Bikaner, Madhu Acharya ‘Ashawadi’ is a noted poet, novelist, and story writer. He writes in Hindi and Rajasthani and has 86 books under his name. A recipient of the Sahitya Academy Award for Rajasthani, he is the convenor, Rajasthani Bhasha Paramarsh Mandal and Uttar Kshetra Mandal of Sahitya Academy, New Delhi. His novel “Guwad” is claimed as the first post-modern novel of Rajasthani language which also won him the Sahitya Academy award. He is the recipient of many other accolades in Hindi and Rajasthani languages.
A theatre actor, director, play writer, he has more than 200 plays as a theatre artist before becoming a journalist and later, consultant editor at Dainik Bhaskar. His passion for writing is exemplary.
