Sharmistha Saha is an Assistant Professor in the HSS department of IIT Bombay. She studied theatre in the Freie Universität Berlin and in the school of Arts and Aesthetics, JNU. She is a theatre director and co- founder of the Mumbai based theatre company Qissa Kothi. Some of her significant theatre productions are Romeo Ravidas and Juliet Devi, Her Letters, Bundelkhand Ki Virgin Machhliyan and others. Her monograph Theatre and National Identity in Colonial India: Formation of a Community Through Cultural Practice was published from Springer in 2018. She has interest in the areas of Theatre Historiography, Performance Philosophy, Theories of Acting, Aesthetics and Politics, and others.
