Based in Ahmedabad, Vinit Vyas works on the early modern visual and material culture of South Asia.
Currently a graduate student in Art history in the Dept. of Art History & Aesthetics, MSU Baroda. He has been a research associate at the Museum of Art & Photography (MAP), Bangalore. Vinit has been actively researching on North Indian painting traditions and has also been a visiting and guest faculty at the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad.
Previously, he worked as a summer research intern at the Mehrangarh fort Musem for 4 years and his writings have appeared on Serendipity Arts, The Heritage Lab, Sahagamana. Strengthening his research interests on Asian erotica, sexuality, and Western Indian painting traditions, Vyas is co-authoring a catalogue on Rajasthani paintings and has also contributed a chapter in a forthcoming edited volume on the princely states of Gujarat.
